杨柳，男，汉族，中共党员，1983年10月生，安徽宿州人。2010年6月广西大学作物栽培学与耕作学专业毕业，获农学博士学位。分别于2013年11月至2014年11月和2015年12月至2016年12月在澳大利亚昆士兰大学做访问学者,2019年12月获研究员职称。曾任广西农业科学院生物技术研究所副所长，现任广西农业科学院重点实验室主任。
   主要从事百香果种质资源收集评价及新选育种、甘蔗氮素高效利用等方面的研究。主持国家自然科学基金2项、广西自然科学基金1项、广西重点研发项目3项，参加国家支撑计划项目、国家863课题子课题、国家国际合作等项目多个；“糖能兼用甘蔗关键技术研究与应用”获广西科技进步二等奖，排名第七；“甘蔗茎尖脱毒健康种苗技术研究与示范”获广西科技进步三等奖，排名第六；获得授权发明专利4项，实用新型专利4项。
   在《Plant Science》、《Field Crops Research》、《Biology and Fertility of Soils》、《Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis》、《Sugar Tech》、《华南农业大学学报》、《广西植物》等专业刊物上发表《New role of phenylpropanoid compounds during sugarcane micropropagation in Temporary Immersion Bioreactors (TIBs)》、《Quantifying the effect of biochar amendment on soil quality and crop productivity in Chinese rice paddies》、《Characteristics and inorganic N holding ability of biochar derived from the pyrolysis of agricultural  and forestal residues in the southern China. Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis》、《Effect of Biochar on Growth, Photosynthetic Characteristics and Nutrient Distribution in Sugarcane》等论文35篇，其中国际刊物9篇，中文核心刊物18篇，合编著作1本。
    2018年被授予广西优秀科技特派员，2019年获得国家自然科学基金评议专家。
